Frequently asked questions about booking an appointment

If you wish to make an appointment for another person, that person must authorise you to interact with Kela on his or her behalf. The mandate must be issued through the Suomi.fi service. The relevant mandate is called Manage social security benefits (Sosiaaliturvan etuusasioiden hoitaminen).

Guardians can make an appointment for their underaged child without going through the authorisation process.

Private guardians and trustees can also book an appointment on behalf of the assignor once the power of attorney has been confirmed by the Digital and Population Data Services Agency (DVV). If you access Kela’s appointment booking system on behalf of another person, you will also be able to see their appointment history.
