Kela will request signatures from partner organisations electronically in the future
Going forward, Kela’s partner organisations can sign documents such as different contracts with Kela electronically. This is made possible by Kela’s e-signature service from 12 February 2024 onwards.
Kela will introduce an electronic signature service on 12 February 2024. Kela’s e-signature service will be used by Kela’s partner organisations, who enter into various contracts and commitments with Kela and sign other administrative documents. The e-signature service authenticates the data content of a document and the identity of a signer.
"Signing administrative documents with our partner organisations electronically makes our cooperation quicker and easier. At the same time, we are taking another big step towards becoming a paperless office. Responsibility courses through our entire strategy," says Director Nina Nissilä. "Of course, the old methods of signing are still available, if the need arises."
Electronic signing is available when a person in the partner organisation receives a signing request in their e-mail from Kela. The signer has to identify themselves using the Suomi.fi service. In order to do that, they need online banking codes, a mobile ID or an electronic ID card. Kela may also request that the signer identify themselves using a personal ID card.
Kela’s partner organisations can read the instructions for using the service on Kela’s website.
