How to book a taxi if you have a hearing or speech impairment
If you have a hearing or speech impairment, you can book taxi travels reimbursed by Kela by text message.
You can book a taxi by text message after you have reported your customer data to the dispatch centre in your region. Check the numbers of the dispatch centres.
Report the following data to the dispatch centre by phone or by text message:
- your name
- your personal identity code
- your telephone number
- your home address.
After that, you can book a taxi via the text message service. Please state the following in your message:
- your name
- your pick-up address
- your destination (e.g. hospital)
- latest possible time of arrival at the place of treatment
- any assistive devices you use (e.g. wheelchair, guide dog)

Kela is the administrator of the personal data register of the dispatch centre. The information you provide to the dispatch centre will not be used for any other purpose than as required to arrange the trip and process the claim for reimbursement for the travel costs.
