Avoid scams

Scams can be made in Kela’s name, trying to get Kela customers to give for instance their online banking credentials or credit card details. Scams may be sent by text message or e-mail. On the internet, there are also fake websites that look very much like the real ones.

Kela does not ask for your personal data, such as personal identity code or banking details, by text message or e-mail. If you get a scam message, do not click on any links or open any attachments.

Secure login to OmaKela

1. Kirjaudu OmaKelaan aina kela.fi-verkkosivuston kautta osoitteessa www.kela.fi. Älä kirjaudu OmaKelaan sähköpostiin tulleesta linkistä tai verkon hakukonetuloksista. OmaKela-palvelulla ei ole erillistä mobiilisovellusta, vaan sitä käytetään selaimella.

   • Kela.fi-sivustolle saapuessasi osoiterivillä näkyy lukon kuva. Tämä tarkoittaa sitä, että tiedot lähetetään turvallisesti kela.fihin eikä niitä voi siepata.
   • Jos käytät muidenkin käytössä olevaa tietokonetta esimerkiksi kirjastossa tai Kelan palvelupisteessä ja edellinen käyttäjä on jättänyt selaimen auki, käynnistä selain aina uudelleen.
2. Paina kela.fi-sivustolla Kirjaudu-painiketta, niin pääset OmaKelaan.
3. Tunnistaudu OmaKela-palveluun joko verkkopankkitunnuksillasi tai mobiilivarmenteella.

   • Kirjaudu-painikkeesta aukeaa Suomi.fi-palvelussa oleva kirjautumissivu, jolta pääset valitsemaan oman pankkisi tai muun haluamasi tunnistautumistavan. Suomi.fi on julkishallinnon yhteinen tunnistautumispalvelu, ja myös siellä tiedot lähetetään turvallisesti. Sivun osoitteen osana lukee tunnistautuminen.suomi.fi, ja osoiterivillä on lukon kuva.
   • Jos tunnistaudut OmaKelaan verkkopankkitunnuksilla, voi palveluntarjoajana näkyä Osuuspankki (OP), vaikka käytössäsi olisivat jonkin muun pankin tunnukset.
   • Jos tunnistaudut mobiilivarmenteella, palveluntarjoajana voi näkyä Telia. Tämä ei vaikuta tunnistautumiseen: kela.fistä on aina turvallista kirjautua OmaKelaan.

4. Kun lopetat OmaKelan käytön, kirjaudu ulos. Tyhjennä selaimen sivuhistoria ja välimuisti sekä sulje kaikki avoimet selainikkunat. Tämä on tärkeää erityisesti silloin, kun käytät myös muiden käytössä olevaa laitetta.
5. Tallenna kela.fi-sivusto omalle laitteellesi selaimen kirjanmerkkeihin tai suosikkeihin. Näin pääset sivulle jatkossa suoraan käyttämättä hakukoneita.

1. Always log in to OmaKela via the website kela.fi at www.kela.fi. Do not log in to OmaKela via a link in your e-mail or via the search results provided by the search engine. The OmaKela e-service has no separate mobile application. The e-service is used in the web browser.

   • When you come to the kela.fi website, a lock is shown in the address field. This means that the data are sent securely to the website kela.fi and they cannot be intercepted.
   • If you use a computer that is also used by others, for instance in a library or at one of Kela’s customer service points, and the previous user has left the web browser open, you should always reopen the web browser.
2. Click the button Kirjaudu (log in) on the kela.fi website to go to the OmaKela e-service.
3. Log in to OmaKela using your online banking credentials or a mobile certificate.

   • The button Kirjaudu opens the page for login in the e-service Suomi.fi, where you can select the identification method of your bank or some other identification method of your choice. Suomi.fi is a joint identification service for public-sector organisations, and also there the data are sent securely. The text tunnistautuminen.suomi.fi is shown as part of the address and a picture of a lock is shown in the address field.
   • If you log in to OmaKela using your online banking credentials, Osuuspankki (OP) may appear as the service provider even of you use the online banking credentials of another bank.
   • If you use a mobile certificate, Telia may appear as the service provider. This does not affect the identification: you can always securely log in to OmaKela from the website kela.fi.

4. When you no longer use OmaKela, remember to log out. Clear the browsing history and cache and close all open browser windows. This is especially important when you use a device that can also be used by others.
5. Save the site kela.fi among the bookmarks in the browser on your device or as a favourite. In that way, you can access the site directly without using search engines.
