Eepos, Kela's strategic development programme | About Kela | KelaSkip to content

Our work to develop services and systems draws on customer insight, an area that has been a focus for development at Kela in recent years.

A key aspect of our development programme is to modernise the information systems for benefit administration so that they meet customer requirements for digital operating environments in the 2030s. Over the next ten years, customers’ and partners’ interactions with Kela will be streamlined with the help of automation, and in certain cases, there may no longer be a need for individual interactions.

The development programme will improve Kela’s operations

  1. Using data efficiently and improving data mobility
Technical solutions at Kela will enable data mobility and improve the efficiency of public services within the bounds of the relevant legislation.
  2. Maintaining the data security of Kela’s core functions in the face of more limited economic resources and shortages of qualified staff
New solutions will streamline and automate the work done at Kela. Our ability to detect benefit fraud will be improved.
  3. Responding to the demands of productivity and the digitalisation of our operating environment
The innovative systems that Eepos will deliver will create efficiencies and savings at the stage when the old systems can be replaced.
  4. Guaranteeing the effective implementation of social security in all situations for the coming decades
Kela’s ability to offer new services will be significantly improved. With new benefit administration systems that permit adaptation to evolving needs, Kela will be in a position to implement legislative amendments more quickly than before.
